Accelerate your studies with a UNSW School of Education Microcredential Unit in Gifted Education
Having completed the Mini-COGE with GERRIC at UNSW School of Education, you have enhanced your knowledge and understanding of best practices in the education of gifted students.
Now, with our microcredentials, you can take this knowledge further and fast-track the completion of a postgraduate qualification, while also obtaining proficient teacher accreditation and valuable professional development.
Successful completion of the Microcredential Unit in Gifted Education: Key Concepts and Issues, in combination with the Mini-COGE, can earn you 6 Units of Credit (UoC) (equivalent to EDST5808) towards the School of Education's Master of Education (Gifted Education) or Graduate Certificate (Gifted Education) postgraduate programs at UNSW*.
Please also note that completing the Microcredential Unit (or EDST5808) is a prerequisite for enrolling in EDST5803 | Developing Effective Programs for Gifted Students and EDST5810 | Twice-Exceptionality in Education when completing a Master of Education (Gifted Education) or Graduate Certificate (Gifted Education).
*Eligibility: This course is offered to participants who have completed the Mini-COGE since January 2018. You will be asked to confirm when you completed the Mini-COGE during the registration process. If you are unsure when you completed the Mini-COGE, please contact us via gerric@unsw.edu.au.
Converting your Mini-COGE into a postgraduate program in education is quick, flexible and completely online. Simply follow the steps below:

The cost of your microcredential covers the acquisition of the mandatory E-textbook, a crucial resource for successfully finishing the microcredential.
2. Finish and upload the two course assessments using the online platform. Your submissions will be reviewed by a member of the GERRIC Academic team, who will then disclose your result.
3. Upon successfully completing the microcredential, you can apply for postgraduate study and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to have the 6 UoC credited upon commencement. Please note that all other eligibility requirements for postgraduate study must also be met.
