JANUARY 2025 PROGRAM INFORMATION
Our GERRIC for Gifted Students program is offered to gifted and talented students (students who can perform in the top 10% of their age-peers) in Years 3-10 at Australian primary, middle or secondary school. How are the programs developed?
All programs are developed and presented by experienced teachers who are qualified or experienced in gifted education. They possess the expertise and skills to encourage the interests and pique the curiosity of gifted children.
To provide an appropriate level of rigour and challenge for gifted students, the level of difficulty of the workshops is set two years above the enrolled school level of the child. The workshop structure is also designed to further develop social skills and provide an opportunity for gifted students to meet like-minded peers with similar interests.

Most families opt for the higher level (upcoming year) when a student's year at school falls on the cusp between year groups. For example, a student who will start Year 3 the following year is eligible to apply for the Year 3-4 workshops, and a student who will start Year 6 the following year is eligible to apply for the Year 5-6 workshops.
However, if the topic of a workshop in the lower bracket is particularly appealing to a student, or if a parent believes that level to be more socially appropriate for their child, they may apply for a workshop at that level. For example, a student who has just finished Year 4 may apply for a Year 3-4 workshop if desired.
Please click on the link below to view the selection criteria for any student wishing to attend the GERRIC Student Programs. It is the responsibility of the parent and/or caregiver to read this and make sure that the student meets the criteria. Eligible students must meet at least one criteria in Category A or 2 criteria in Category B.
In addition, all students are expected to be able to behave in a manner that respects the safety and learning needs of others.
Unfortunately, no. Workshops will run simultaneously meaning each child can only attend one program for three days.
